A simplified mulled wine recipe perfect for the winter holidays.

  • 1 bottle dry red wine (750 ml)
  • 2-3 cinnamon sticks
  • 3-4 tablespoons sugar
  • peel of 1 orange


  • Put all ingredients into a medium saucepan. Cover and cook on high.
  • When it starts to boil, remove the lid and light with a match. Be careful: A beautiful large blue flame will burst out.
  • When the flames dies down, ladle into mugs.
